I a thinking of changing the conventional meds as they do not seem to be working. | WOW....almost all I can say!!!! WOW, that's quite a bit of stuff!!! I know VERY VERY little on the homeopaths and herbs so can't really comment. Do you give everything together or do you try to separate everything? Couple questions...Are you giving a stomach protectant just every second day (omeprazole)? I'd be wanting to give it daily at least....unless one of the other chinese or homepathic meds are protectants. Just wondering what the mg totals are for the prednisone and leflunomide. Are you giving the pred twice daily (every 12 hrs)? How often the leflunomide? Are you giving the soloxine every 12 hrs at equal amounts? SORRY....you got me confused some. LOL ALSO, if I were you I WOULD NOT change the conventional meds without checking with the docs. Dr. Dodds could advise you best most likely. Johnny & Tessy |

| totals, 10 for preds 2 x 5mg twice a day every eight hours 20 for Leflunomide 2 X 10MG given once a day once every other day for the Omerprazole (seems to be ok fo the lest 3 months Soloxine .03MG half a pill every 12 hours without food (at least 3 after food and an hour before) I have contacted Dr Dodds about changing the meds and am awaiting her reply. I know she is on lots of stuff but she takes it all without any stress....infact when my alarms go off to remind me she rushes into the kitchen wagging her tail....infact she reminds me sometimes!!!! thanks for your mail, I hope you think I am being a good Mum !!! | Lola - This is quite the list! I don't know most of the Chinese and homeopathic formulas on your list but I remember when Murray was diagnosed, my traditional and holistic vets cautioned against any supplements that would stimulate the immune system. It sounded counter-intuitive to me at the time until they explained that stimulating the red cell production would also stimulate the destruction. Their reco was to hold off and get the destruction under control (and the holistic vet agreed that the allopathic meds were best equipped to do this) and then begin adding supplements that (re)build the immune system. I wanted to mention it in case it might be helpful. It may be specific to the type of IMHA you are treating - hopefully others will chime in on whether or not they got similar advice. Bonnie |

| That is quite a list of drugs. I was just wondering if you also take Maltilda a holistic vet in addition to your regular vet and do they both know everything Matilda is getting. Also have you forwarded this list to Dr Dodds and is she okay with it. To me it just seems like so much, but then again I am not a vet. How much does Maltilda weigh? Sometimes it takes the medicine weeks to work and it is just a very slow increase in the beginning, just take it one day at a time. I am happy to hear she is up and about and wanting to take her pills or eat is a very good sign. I can tell by your post that you love Mattie very much and are doing everything you can for her. | I forgot to add that you should make sure you are taking care of yourself too. Get plenty of rest and make sure you are eating, sometimes we are so focused on our pets we forget about ourselves.
