Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - make sure your vet checks for hemic parasites

My 5 lb Jap Chin was diagnosed with aiha. No reason not getting better. My vet did a blood smear cytology which is a smear without the anticoagulant. look in the microscope and found parasites called Babesia.He was bit by a tick. Now that we know what the problem is he is being treated with dif. meds to kill the parasites. PLEASE make sure your vet did this. The parasites were eating the blood cells. If you are lucky enough to find the parasites then you have something to treat Good luck to everyone
