| Hi All, Well Madison is a 2 year survivor today. I havent been on here for awhile but do think of everyone who helped us get through the first few tough months, all the info on here got me through the very bad times.. Madison now has a human sister, little Stella is 8 months and loves dogs also (we have 3 dogs)..I think Stella thinks they are humans... Thinking of you all going through this terrible disease but just remember miracles do happen. Samantha |

| Hey Sam, Congrats to Madison on her 2 year anniversary! It doesn't seem that long ago both our dogs were diagnosed (Millie's 2 year anniversary is tomorrow the 22nd January), and we were confusing everyone here with two Samantha's posting from Australia at the same time with dogs whose names both started with 'M'! :) So happy for you both, and congratulations on the new baby! | For all the new ones going through this... Madison had to have 3 transfusions so she was very very sick, it took a month of all the drugs to start to see a slight improvement then after 9 months she was drug free... and has been healthy ever since.. She does not have any flea treatment, worming treatment or vaccinations any more as they were the cause. Thanks again and positive thoughts to all still going through this terrible disease. | Hi Samantha I haven't been on the board for some time and was so very happy to see that Madison is doing sooooo well. Success stories like hers give us all a great deal of hope!!! Mercedes too, is doing well---the IMHA still in remission! She had a UTI a few weeks ago, but other than that she is back to her old self. Her coat has grown back in and she is looking so much better too. We are down to 35 of azathiopine twice a week and I will be drawing blood and sending to Dr. Dodds in the next couple of weeks, in the hopes we can reduce it even further. Hopefully she will soon be completely "drug free". Hard to believe we have been at this for almost a year now!! We travelled to South Carolina earlier this month, to purchase a lovely new standard poodle puppy (now 12 weeks old) who we have named "Nova". She and Mercedes are the best of buddies and it is so much fun to watch them frolicking together---Ms Mercedes is like a puppy again, herself. Mercedes is also back training for agility competition, and we hope to take her to her first trial in the spring. Thanks again for updating us on Madison---her story is inspiring to anyone who has had to deal with this awful disease. Hopefully, our Mercedes will follow her down the same path of success! Hugs to All, Maureen and Mercedes |
