Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Lola; wrong turn
| Lola's pcv dropped to 12% last night. We are transfusing her today. I just hate that it is almost the worst thing you can do to a dog with this, but clinically even she looks terrible. Provided she pulls through we are changing her drug therapy to the following: Pred 10 mg in morning/ 5mg in evening Cyclorsporine: same Discontinue Imuran Add Danazol Discontinue Famotidine Add Prilosec We are also adding Doxyclycline per my request after reading the posts about ticks. We live ona huge ranch and we do see them. Plus, it will not hurt her at all. Cross your fingers. |

| Courtney, Keep us posted on Lola, I hope her transfusion goes smooth. I believe this is what saved Tiggs' life, even though I know they can be dangerous. Good luck. melissa and tiggs |
