Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Lab Results for Tessy

Hey everyone. Before I et to the Lab results I just wanted to say that I gave Tessy a bath about an hour or so ago and she was a little angel! She got out and ran around everywhere making everything soaked! Of coarse I was running behind her with towels trying to dry her off. She goes crazy when she gets out of the bath.
Anyway, she's all dried off now and I have her napping next to me as I write. I think she really enjoyed her bath!

As for the lab results that came back today....I didn't actually get the hard copy of the results rather just a phone call from Tessy's doctor who talked to the specialist. Here's what she said the specialist had to say......

The HCT results from the lab came back at 30%, so that is better than the 28.3 that she had yesterday (from the same blood. I'm not sure if it was a spun result or the machined result.
-they said that her platelets looked normal
-her blood was showing some regeneration
-there were spherocytes present "just slightly"
-I was able to get a reticulocyte # also....it was 3.68% ... 134.32 X 10 to the 9th power/L.....whatever that means

the 3.68% is a good sign I think I remember reading.

The doctor was in the middle of something and wanted to just call and give a quick update of the results. She said that she thought they were going to send copies of the results and when they do she will let me know. I'm assuming these paper results will have more details in them.

Anyhow, It looks and sounds like things are good she said. That is the main thing for now! Again, I gab an awefull lot so sorry about the detail.
Hope all gets well...I'll be praying as usual.

Johnny,
You never know what small detail might mean something to someone else so don't wory about that. Glad to hear Tessy enjoyed her bath and is frisky enough to run. I will let somebody else confirm the results but I think you are right she is heading in the right direction!

The picture in my mind of you chasing Tessy with a towel made me smile. I am also happy to hear your good results. Keep up the fight!
