Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Kent - Some Good News

Hello Everyone,
I have not posted in a while but wanted to let everyone know how Kent is doing. There was a period where things were not looking good, but he has come around.
His hematocrit is up to 34, (holding steady the last 6 weeks between 30-34, he is feeling and looking good, and having pretty normal poops (if you read my last thread, that's cause for celebration!). We have been able to lower the imuran to eod, and the pred down to 7.5 a day.
Since adding supplements, his liver values - which are still high - have dropped over 50%. ! ! :)
He battled some bugs with a UTI and there is only one bug left that we hope will soon be responsive to baytril.
His phosphorus is high, his BUN is 80, but his creatine levels remain high normal which is good. His UPC ratio is down to 12 from a high of 32 - great news!
His appetite has improved and he is doing really well overall.
We are grateful everyday for him and for his progress. He has surprised almost everyone involved in his care. Our vet was absolutely giddy when he called to give Kents results (though we had got them the night before from Dr. Dodds who was absolutely thrilled with his numbers too!). Everyone likes to share good news!
I've posted some pics of Kent on flikr at http://www.flickr.com/photos/25224268@N03/
if anyone wants to check him out! Amazing the difference between a year ago and now.
Wishing everyone a wondeful,healthy week,
Christine and Kent
