Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Kahlu update Sept. 25.

It is now 8 months since Kahlu got diagnosed with AIHA. I just got off the phone with the vet and we were both smiling and we are so happy! Kahlu's PCV is at 49 and I feel that I have my "old" puppy back. His energy is fantastic and he is all around a very happy fella. We will reduce the Azathioprene to once a week and I hope that in about 2 months Kahlu can be med free. He still looks like he got a bad perm, but I am confident his coat will come back as his healing progresses. His muscles are almost back to how they were before this ordeal. I finally got my shipment of Bio Preparation and I hope that will also help preventing a relapse.
