| Hello everybody, We have a bit of a stressful week behind us and it was not because of the Christmas preparations. We went to the vet for a PCV last Monday. Kahlu was doing great and we were ready for good results and a further reduction in the pred. This time my gut feeling let me down. His PCV was down to 42 from 47 and the vet felt we should be cautious and do a CBC in a few days, to be sure it was just one of those ups and downs. That happened on Thursday and the results on Friday came in fantastic. His Hematocrit was 51!! It was the first time his lab report came back without anything in bold and the pathologist commented that he looks good! We did not do the chemistry, but I am sure his liver values have improved too. We are now going ahead with the next reduction to 2.5 pred. EOD. I have notices that over the last few weeks he smells so much better too. I have my old boy back! It was worth every penny and all the sleepless nights. Thanks to all of you for your thoughts, prayers and advice. Best wishes, Brigitte & Kahlu |
