Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Joey update.

For those of you who have just started on this journey I

It's now 3 years since Joey was diagnosed with Hemolytic anaemia and I'm still panicking over blood test results.Just as I had thought we would do 6 instead of 3 monthly tests I get results that I don't understand from a locum. No mention of PCV's (last count was 41%) nothing this time except raised cholestrol and glucose levels which have never been mentioned before. Not greatly high but still up and considering his problems started in his pancreas still rather worrying. He's also put on 400grams in a week but is still on the same diet and exercise regime so nothing makes sense. The only thing that may have altered anything is that he had all his vaccinations for the first time in 2 years as he was in peak condition and due to the prevelance of parvo etc in my area was a judgement call I hope I won't regret.

Hi Corrie,

Thats so lovely to hear about Joey. My toy poodle Fred, has just been diagnosed with this and I am so worried. Is Joey still on medication or has he finished? Fred has been prescribed Prednisoldone and is starting them today.

Isnt this such an awful condition, and the vet seems to be learning about it also. How did the condition start for Joey
