Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Jasper is going med free

We have been slowly weaning him down over the last few months until this week and as of today Jasper is trying med free!!!!!From half a tablet every other day, we are going without for the next few days.
Fingers crossed for him.

For everyone out there, keep going. Its taken us 7 months to get here with hiccups and setbacks on the way. We have had one step forwards followed by 2 steps back on many occassions. We have encountered lethargy, panting, vomiting and colitis just to name but a few and he has recently had a spot of fox mange on his ears, again due to his lowered immunity and the steroids. So his ears are currently trimmed nice and short..... with a few bald spots!!!!!!!

Needless to say, med free is still a huge worry for us, but onwards we plod and he turns 12 on 1st April.....April fools day.

Good luck,
Jackie and Jasps.

That is a wonderful milestone to reach. It is a great thing not to have to take the nasty meds. I know it is also worrisome but we will keep you guys in our thoughts and prayers. Go Jasper go!
