Thank you all so much for your responses! Goodness, I didnt' realize how profolic this condition is! I just had Jack vaccinated the first of July now this. I definitely believe there is a correlation between the vaccines and this syndrome. I plan to pursue this and hopefully, Jack wont' be too uncomfortable. Still haven't decided whether or not to put him down, although that thought kills me. I do so love this dog! Such a damn waste..............

Mary, Please don't give up hope!!! Remember, Jack is not in pain, just very tired. If you have not done so already, check out Joanne's website for LOTS of information and most of all HOPE. http://www.cloudnet.com/~jdickson/newhope.htm If you read the success stories, you will see that many dogs have survived and are doing fine. Don't get me wrong, I know you are dealing with a serious illness. But as Dr. Jean Dodds (she is THE expert in AIHA/IMHA, ITP etc.) told me, where there is life there is hope! Ask away, there will be somebody here that has gone through the same or at least something similar. Post CBC numbers, weight and medications. Ask about food and anything that troubles you. Some people here have more knowledge about this condition than some vets. Jack will let you know when he had enough. But as long as he is still fighting there is hope! Best wishes, Brigitte & the poodle boys

Mary, why are you considering putting him down? Usually the cases triggered by toxic exposure are more easily treated. Give us some more info if you don't mind. Johnny Tessy & Sadie

Johnny, you have them mixed up. It is Cindi and Tori that deal with the toxic exposure. Never the less, you are right Mary should not give up hope! Brigitte & the poodle boys

Even with some of the drug side effects Jack will have to deal with, and there will be a lot of them, it is worth it to fight the good fight. This is a long slow process. I promise you that you are thinking about giving up way before it's time. It may look bad to you, but if you read some of the success stories, you will find that we have all gone through some very rough times. Good luck!!!! Ronda

Brigitte....my bad. I have the right dog but should have said chemical exposure (from the vacs) instead. My brain isn't functioning properly lately.

I am so very sorry for what your beautiful dog and You are going through. My best friend Sophie, she is a 7 yr. old American Cocker, she got this disease 2 weeks after her vaccine and her teeth cleaned this May. It is a very hard battle and weekly vet's check and med's etc. I just want you to know it is very very experience. We started this battle in May and we are about $4000. into this. Sophie is doing well at this point but we have had our set backs and were still not in the clear yet. Once you start this whole process there is no turning back and the cost is weekly. I think it has been worth all the heart ache and financial burden it has placed on us as a family but at the end of the day she is worth it. I hope your dog is too. Debbie
