Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Jack update

Well jack is not able to walk 2day. He is pooping and peeing where he lays. Also his back legs and paws are swollen. Has anyone had this problem

Robin
I am so sorry Jack is not doing well today. I have never experienced this problem but would it be possible to take him to an emergency vet hospital this evening or get him to your vet the first think in the morning? it does sounds he like he really needs to be seen by a vet.

Keeping Jack in our prayers.

I spoke to vet today. He believes it could be a nerve problem in addition to aiha

I'm so sorry to hear about Jack's continued setbacks. Do you think he could be retaining fluid? Is he on any type of thinner, like Heparin or Asprin?

We are keeping you and Jack in our thoughts and prayers.

Robin, I am so sorry. All of a sudden Oliver is doing the same kind of thing. Fine all day and now he staggers and can barely walk. The emergency vet is a jerk and want to wait until tomorrow morning, but I'm so scared. His gums are absolutely white when he moves around. We're going through this together it seems. I'll pray for you and Jack.

Robin, If it were me I'ld be getting Jack to the emergency vet sooner rather than later. Why take any unneeded chanced right. It could be what Melissa was saying...fluid retention. While you are waiting you could try to very gently massage the aeras if he lets you.
The same thing goes for Oliver....get him in NOW! White gums are not good. His crit may be crashing and the only was to tell is to have in in to be checked. IF he's crashing then time is of the essence. Call the emergency vet and INSIST he's coming in. I'ld just like to ring some of these guys' necks. The last thing we need is a jerk for a vet.

Prayers and best wishes to Jack and Oliver.

Mitch had a very swollen paw and was very lame on it when he first got ill at the end of July. It gradually went down over a week. On Friday last week his carpal joint (wrist) swelled up and he was lame on it 24hrs later it had gone down again. No idea why.
