Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Izzy is at peace

We lost our beloved Izzy today, She had a episode yesterday and we thought it was vestibulitis, she did come home last nite, did not move all nite, went back to the vet today, she had no response to pain or anything, vet feels she may have had a blood clot to the brain, so at that time we decided we needed to let her go, it seems her body was only there she was already gone otherwise. So we held her little hand and was with her at the end. I think we may have won the battle of the AIHA but the meds may may have caused the death. We dearly miss her but try and hold comfort in knowing we tried everything we could.

Thank you all for your prayers and support I will continue to pray for those of you struggling with this awful disease.

Harriet,
I am so very sorry. It is never easy to say goodbye but I am glad you were able to be with her at the end. Of course the end is just the end of this life here so hold it in your heart that you will see her again in a better place where she is healthy and happy.

Dear Harriet -- I am so sorry to hear that you lost your dear Izzy to this horrible disease and complications. I am glad you were with her at the end, and those final moments will be a comfort to you. Penny said the rest better that I could ever do. Please take care and let us know how you're doing.

Harriet, I'm so sad to hear your news about Izzy. You are right to take comfort from the fact that you did everything that you could for her. I'm sure she had a good life and knew how much you loved her. Please take care of yourselves now.

Harriet, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. You did everything in your power to help Izzy and you know, that's all we can do, take some comfort from that. It saddens me to read of so many losses but I know we all do our very best and when it's time to let go, as hard as it is, we know in our heart it's the right thing to do.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
