| I received the link to this video in today's email: http://healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2011/05/31/what-your-vet-didnt-tell-you-about-all-those-puppy-and-kitty-vaccines.aspx An interview with Dr. Ronald Schultz, a veterinary immunologist, who is leading several research projects in an effort to change the laws and standard veterinary protocol as they relate to rabies vaccinations and core vaccines (distemper, parvo, corona, etc.) He strongly believes over vaccination of cats and dogs is causing significant health problems for our pets. |

| Joanne: Thank you so much for adding this link. I strongly feel that Croby's illness had been linked to his vaccine. I can't understand why the vet had vaccinated him around the 2 yr point. It leaves me angry at the vet because he was supposed to be my pets health advisor ... that's what he was paid to do. I placed y trust in him and he did not meet his fiduciary responsibility by giving the vaccine at this point in time. My new puppy is due to be born on June 3rd and I will be getting her in August. I have been extensively doing research and have selected a new veternarian. I am really excited about getting the puppy but also somewhat nervous as decided to stick with the American Cocker Spaniel breed whom I have read so many stories about spaniel in links to this illness. I just have to keep reminding myself that although there is an overrepresentation of this breed in this illness that most spaniels don't ever get this. I am thinking of not giving the heartworm treatment as in Ottawa heartworm is very uncommon. There have been only 1 or 2 cases in the past couple of years here and both were in dogs whom had travelled outside the region. |
