Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - I never wanted this dog..
| But somehow, when my niece could not housebreak the cocker puppy she bought in Canton(flea market) I inherited her. A cocker? FOR ME?? I like big dogs, for heaven's sake I drive a truck, I haul horses, what in the heck do I want with a cocker? I never wanted this dog, but deep inside when I saw her, a tiny brown and white parti, I felt my heart grow 3 sizes...kinda like the grinch. This dog I never thought I wanted has every single day for the past 6 and 1/2 years has greeted me with kisses and love. THIS dog has slept in my bed when when I was all alone. THIS dog has helped me feel less afraid of being alone in the world. THIS dog has even helped me raise my son. Just a few of the things THIS dog has done for me, many more I can not even begin to list them all. My Molly became my little princess, my best friend. I am now a cocker lover. Forever I think I will have one, their beautiful happy and loving souls, fiercly loyal, and devoted friends. This dog I see cooped up in a cage at the vet since Monday and every afternoon when my son and I stop in to see her she begs to be held and taken home. I am now just praying that she can get well enough to go home and last one more Christmas, just one more Christmas, not too much to ask, a few weeks thats all I want....THIS dog I never really wanted, I can not bear the thought of letting her go.... |

| Amy -- My best wishes to you and to Molly as you fight this horrible disease. It is so clear that you love her so much and that you and your son have shared a wonderful, loving life together with her. I hope that she turns the corner and gets better for you. Please know that we're all praying for Molly, you, and your son. |

| Amy, Isn't it funny how a dog no matter what size package they come in can bring you such total dedication and love. We did not pick any of our current 4 dogs they were all abandoned and the 2 before the same. Yet they became our children and I think they really own us not the other way round. It is a good thing that Molly is so alert when you go to see her and hopefully she will be around for many more Christmas' Penny |
