Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - I changed the 3 legged dog's name to Molly

Thank you one and all for your encouragement and support! I sincerely appreciate it. I changed Myia to Molly. A guy down the street has a Boston Terrier named Myia.

You should have seen all the employees at the vet's office when I went to pick her up! They were so happy to see her go to a good home and loving owner. One vet told me, she was so very, very glad I took her. Funny thing, when we went to put the leash on her, she took it in her mouth, just like Jack used to do......

I didn't know we could post pics here? Can someone tell me how?

Johnny, you and your ladies are in my prayers, as are all of you who are struggling with this horrific syndrome. I so hope that things turn out well for you and your gals. You know, I so appreciate all of you, you wonderful comments, and all you apparently do for this site. Can't believe I've only been on it 5 days and I already feel like I have made such good friends!

Cheryl, you hit it right on the spot - how did you know I was going to go back and get Molly?

You guys don't know how this new little dog has begun to heal me. She doesn't know she only has 3 legs. You should have seen her chasing the tennis ball in the back yard - and she'll even bring it back and let you take it out of her mouth. Jack, being the retriever he was, wouldn't surrender it, LOL!

Molly is a very sweet dog, she is laying at my feet as I type. She has beautiful chocolate brown eyes, like Jack, very expressive. She's already glued to my hip, like Jack was. She is having a little difficulty with the stairs as I have a 2 story house, but I am confident she'll master it. I can't tell how old she is but she does still have her baby teeth. Probably 3-4 months old.

Thank you all once again. This is a first class group of people with hearts as big as the State of Texas! LOL, had to say that since that is where I'm originally from.

Hi Mary and Molly
So glad things are working out for you and your new addition.
As far as the pictures go you can post them on facebook if you have a facebook account. I am sure there are other ways to post photos and perhaps others will chime in on that. You also could email a few to me:)

Looking forward to seeing those photos.

Mary and Molly,(doesn't that go together well?!)
I am so happy for you I get all emotional! I am too wanting to see pictures but sorry, don't know how to do it. An other way than face book would be to order a Meisha's Hope bandanna http://www.cloudnet.com/~jdickson/bandanna.htm and then Joanne would post the picture you send to her for all of us to see! (Am I sneaky?)I think this really was meant to be. Please keep us posted.

Best wishes,

Dear Mary, I know how hard it is to lose a beloved pet but I also know the joy a new addition to the family makes. When I lost Holly, nearly 2 years ago now I was distraught but my puppy Saffy helped to bring happiness back into the house. Wishing you all the best with Molly, what a beautiful name! xxxx

Molly has already shown me she is quite bright. Hate to say it, but much quicker than Jack was. Jack was one of those, "Which way did he go, George" kinda guys. Never got excited about anything, LOL!. Must be the female vs male thing, Venus VS Mars, LOL. She is timid and I have to remind myself she is still a puppy, with her baby teeth probably 3-4 months old. I did find out she is a 3 week amputee. Amazing because she took the stairs from my deck down to the back yard without fear. She uses her chin to kinda center herself coming up. Now the stairs up to my bedroom, she totally freaks out about. So I have moved her crate downstairs. Besides, she kept me up ALL night long, But I'm confident, as she gains confidence in her abilities, she'll be OK. I'm so glad I got her. She has taken my mind off mourning Jack.

My son called me today from Texas, said "Mom, is it true you have a 3 legged dog?" He said, "I dont' mean to laugh, but really that sounds so funny!" I said, "Yep, this crazy old woman went and got her a flop earred three legged dog!" He said, why did you do that?

Well, I'm 62 slowing down a little, as much as I hate to admit it, and I want a laid back couch potato dog, like Jack was. Molly can have a happy life with me because I don't except much out of her except to walk around the block each night and lay at my feet. And don't poop or pee in the house. I won't demand more of her than she can do. We can have a happy life together.

Sorry, I'm rambling... I know but my life has changed. Thanks all who are interested. Let me know if I need to leave this forum because my slant is now quite different than all of ya'll's.

Please do continue with the stories. Myself, I love reading them!!!

Johnny, you want me to stay? LOL. I can't factor in all those statistics that you know so well. Damn, with your knowledge of this horrific syndrome, you should have been a VET! Heck, you probably know more about this stuff than most vets. I'll make you a deal, if I win the lottery, I promise you, I will send you some very big bucks!! And you can do research or become a vet,LOL.

Thanks for your comments! If all the special folks on here want me to leave,I will. I just have to express myself. This may not be the place to do it because I have lost Jack and don't have the expertise and knowledge about this that ya'll all do. Nor do I have the struggles. I'm kinda not in the program anymore.

However, I firmly believe that the vaccinations have much to do with this syndrome. My neighbors, who know Jack and me, cause we walked every night, rain or shine, couldn't believe he went so fast. I will donate all I can to do research on this because I firmly believe it is related to vaccinations.

I will not let Molly become another victim.

Thanks Guys, you are totally THE BEST and I will pray for all of you and your beloved pets.
