Hi, I noticed Wiley was having some diarhea (sp) this morning. Can anyone explain to me what the pumpkin does and how to use it? Thanks!

Hi Lisa - The fiber in pumpkin should help to firm up Wiley's stools. Murray is ~42 lbs. and I give him 1-2 TBSP - I would start with a small amount and add more if you need to. I mix his supplements in the pumpkin and blend it with his food but (to him) it's pretty palatable - he'll take it plain as well. Be sure you are buying 100% pumpkin and not the pumpkin pie mix which has sugar and spices, etc. added (in my area, the Libby's labels are pretty similar but the ingredient lines are clear). Good luck - I hope it brings Wiley some relief. Bonnie

I had to buy a large can and did not need it all so I divided what was left into 2 TBSP portions and put them in my freezer in zip lock bags. That way I have them handy when needed and Ginger's just eats them frozen. Hope Wiley is feeling better soon. Cheryl & Ginger

Do I only use this when he is not feeling well, not an everyday thing? Thanks so much!!

I think some do use it everyday. I only use it when she needs it and once things are back to normal I don't use it anymore, until the next time she needs it. Cheryl

Lisa, The humane/rescue groups out here use it for both loose stools and constipation cases. I don't know why it works for both but I don't see where a regular serving would hurt.
