| Hi all.. It's been a while since my last post. The good news is Buddy (my second Daschund)is doing wonderfully. He's been completely off from his medications since late Aug. Although his PCV never back to the pre-AIMHA (above 48), his now stabil at 43-45. We monitor him through lab work every other week, and now every month. The bad news is that I have to leave him with a friend during 2 weeks of my holiday trip. I'm so stressed out thinking about it. The trip is a must since my in-law is visiting from out of country. I believe stress was the major factor of his first diagnosis in May 09 after I left him for Memorial day weekend trip. Anyone has idea how to calm down or de-stressing out your beloved pet? I read something about calming collar. Anyone has ever tried that? Appreciate for any input. Tks. |

Hi Is it the DAP collars you mean? These were researched at the university I was attending at the time. I have read a lot of good reports about them having worked well. Only a couple of weeks ago a student of mine said she had tried one for her dog for the 'bonfire night week'(never just a night!) due to his fear of fireworks. She noticed a lot of difference and whist he was still anxious must less so than in previous years. She did find he slept more than usual and seemed very 'chilled out'. The sort of thing we see when our dogs become anaemic and so don't panic if this occurs! |
