I've been thinking about so many of you, as we just passed the 3rd anniversary of Midas losing his battle with AIHA. I was so heartended to read about the progress at Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in developing a new diagnostic test for AIHA/IMHA. Hopefully more exciting news will be forthcoming from the research community. No new furries in our lives. It turns out that our 4 year old daughter is a severe asthmatic. After her hospitalization earlier this summer, we are now surrounded by two lively aquatic frogs, a tiny snail, 4 frisky angel fish, and one gigantic pleco. There's not a day that goes by that I don't miss Midas, my sweet giant golden boy. Thanks to all of you out there who offered your prayers and support during our fight. You all have earned your wings!

Rachel, How are you? It is so good to hear from you. I am sorry to hear of your daughter's asthmatic condition as I know what a wonderful doggy Mom you were but fish and frogs are good! I hope you have been able to do like I have with my Salome and celebrate the time you had with Midas instead of letting it continue to break your heart. Our sweet dogs will be reunited with us someday I have no doubts about that. A little late but Shana tova. Hugs Penny

Rachel - It was very nice to see your name pop up here again. And, it made me smile to see your note followed by one from Penny - both of you were so incredibly helpful and supportive to me when Murray was diagnosed in March 2007. I think of your words often, even now as I am going through new challenges with him. Even though it's been several years since Midas lost his battle, I'm not surprised he's with you each day. It was clear how much you loved him and bravely put him first. I'm sorry to hear about Kate's asthma - I hope she is doing ok. Take good care - Bonnie
