Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Henri-Titer Testing
| Hi Folks, I haven't posted in a while...but Henri is doing great. His last hemtocrit check showed it at 49%. We are still weaning him off meds. He will be IMHA med-free soon. We are tapering the azathioprine now. Yesterday, Henri had his first titers run. Since he cannot receive anymore vaccinations, they wanted to get a baseline of his immunity. We are praying that his puppy shots were adequate and that his had good immunity. The results for distemper and parvo should be back later today. The rabies results take about 2 weeks to get. It would be such a blessing if his immunity is adequate---one less thing to worry about with him. Keep your fingers crossed for Henri. I will let you know his results. | Penny, We received news yesterday that Henri has no immunity to distemper. We are deeply disappointed and heartbroken. We are waiting for our vet and his internist to communicate and then meet with us. The rabies titer is still pending. We aren't sure what this will mean....but we had hoped he would have adequate immunity so we would have one less thing to worry about. Sadly, Ella |

| Ella, I am sorry his titers did not give better news. Hopefully your Vets will put their heads together and think of a way to protect Henri without endangering him as well. Try to remember how far you have come and what odds you have beaten already. Thinking of you and Henri. Penny |

| Ella, I know you have an excellent team of vets working for you and Henri. i still think it would be good to consult with Dr. Dodds on tht one. Just to cover all your bases. Best wishes, Brigitte |
