| Hello everyone. It has been a long time since I last bisited this sight. There are so many new ones here and it breaks my heart. I hate, hate, hate this disease. fI lost my just turned 4 year old golden retriever, Hunter, to AIHA back on Oct. 16, 2003. I had never heard of this disease until Hunter was diagnosed. Long story short, we know his was brought on by the 6 month heart wortm prevention injection, ProHeart6. There were so many caases of AIHA following ProHeart6 injections and so many died . It ws one of the leading causes of deaths, it and liver damage. The FDA had them pull it from the market 10 months after Hunter's death and it was off for4 years while being "reformulated." Because so many of us were teloling our stories over the web, I was able to find and contact about 45 whose dogs devbeloped AIHA shortly after their PH6 injection and of all of them only 2 were still alive, a cocker and a beagle. Howver the beagle did pass on about a year later. I have the problem now of being leaglly blind and I canot read the screen without my glasses and magnify8ing glass and i get dizzy trying to read that so, so read very little. However I did skin thru the thread titles and I was happy to see so many dogs appear to be responding to treatment. I just want to wish everyone the best of luck and long lives for their beloved dogs. I onloy had my Hunter for a week after diagnosis so I happy to see months and even years going by for others. I donate to the Morris Foundation often for their reseach into AIHA. Good luck to everyone. |

| Dear Sandra, I am so sorry you lost your Hunter to this terrible disease and thank-you for donating to the Morris Foundation. I had never heard of IMHA until my cocker spaniel, Gracie was diagnosed on Oct. 13, 2010. I am so grateful she is still with me and she seems to be doing well. What I hate about this disease is how quickly it comes on and how devastating it can be emotionally, financially and physically for ourselves and our pets. I believe Gracie came down with this disease after her bout with fleas and the spot on treatments she was receiving because of them. I will have to be extra diligent with watching her and combing her for fleas as the spring approaches. God bless you, Gwen and Gracie |
