| Hi Everyone - and Happy New Year. Just a quick update on Milly. I'm happy to report that her red blood count has been steady for three weeks now - at around 40. Her platelet count was low for three weeks (120,000) but has rebounded and was 350,000 this week. We have cut back on the Prednisone by 25% (from 20 to 15 mg/day). After some good advice from Patrice (thank you, thank you, thank you), I found additional support regarding Milly's tick disease - Anaplasmosis. Milly was supposed to complete her 30 day round of Doxy about 10 days ago which was a concern because she is still displaying some signs of lameness in her hind legs. Her dose of doxy was also thought to be too low. I consulted our vet, who agreed to up her dosage (conservatively)from 100 mg/day to 150 mg/day and then told me she would provide me with refills so I could keep her on as long as I wanted. She is not comfortable advising me to increase the dosage more as most dogs don't tolerate the high doses and Milly is fairly small. But, she gave me the ability to increase it myself. I increased to the 150 mg/day which she has tolerated fine and have just increased to 200 mg/day - and she is also tolerating that as well. I think I'll leave it here for awhile and see how she does. I also just received Liver Support supplements and have started her on those (her liver function has been elevated). All in all, we seem to be in a relatively good place. Milly has more energy, strength, and enthusiasm. Not nearly back to her old self but so much better. Next blood test is Jan 11 unless something goes wrong. It's scary cutting back on the Prednisone so I'm watching carefully. Checking gums and tummies. Watching her food intake (poor little thing has gained 3 lbs on her small frame) and keeping our fingers crossed. Thank you all for your concern, advice, and good wishes. My warmest wishes to all and your dogs for a happy and healthy(ier) new year. Judy |

| Dear Judy That's great that Milly is going well. Sounds like you've got everything under control. I also have a little dog with same name who had IMHA - it's such a sweet name for a little doggie! Wishing you continued good health. Samantha and Millie. |
