Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Gift for Vet

Boogie's vet has been absolutely wonderful. She has truly gone beyond the call of duty. I would like to buy her a gift. Anyone have any suggestions for a unique gift for a great woman vet? I am not too concerned about cost. I just want something very nice. I'm so grateful Boogie is still with me.

Sue,
If cost is not a problem what I did for my regular Vet and my ER vet was to have them honored through MAF. They receive a nice plaque for their offices and the money can be designated for Meisha's Hope. You can find the info through Joanne's site or through MAF's website. I am glad to hear Boogie is doing so well.

Sue,
This is sort of advertising, so forgive me for that. I have teamed up with a friend who has a gift store and jelly making business. She is making a special gift basket for me for my vet that includes some of her candied jalapenos and jelly (because my vet likes that kind of thing) along with Race for a Cure T-shirts for him and his staff (haven't gotten them yet but they will be part of it) and a desk clock / picture frame with a picture of Matilda and a note thanking him for the time that he has given me and Matilda, and a Meisha's Hope Fund brochure, along with a note that tells him that 10 percent of the cost of the gift will be given to Meisha's Hope. I have already discussed the idea with him (he doesn't know that he will be getting the first gift basket) and he is going to take several of the brochures to pass out to his colleagues to help raise awareness and maybe raise funds. Kristine's business (my friend) has been focused on making specialty gifts for the corporate world. If you are interested you can call her toll free at 866-548-4438, and she can help you put together whatever kind of gift you would like. She is based in Texas, but ships worldwide. And 10 percent of all sales will go to Misha's Hope. Anyway - just an idea to help a friend's business and to help raise funds to stop this awful disease in its tracks.

My friend asked me to add a link to her website. It is in the process of being reworked, but will give you an idea of what she does.

I ALSO KNOW OF ANOTHER LADY, IN COLORADO, WHO HAS A GIFT SHOP AND PART OF HER PRICE ALSO GOES TO MEISHEA'S FUND. SHE LOST HER DOG TASHA TO AIHA FOLLOWING HER PROHEART6 INJECTION ABOUT 6 YERS AGO. AND SHE HAS POSTED HERE. I HAVE ORDERED FROM HER AND WAS SO PLEASED WITH WHAT I GOT....ESPECIALLY THE GOLDEN RETRIEVER PICURE FRAME. IT IS MUCH NICER THAN IT EVEN APPEARS. HER LINK IS

I MADE A DONATION TO MEISHA'S FUND IN HONOR OF MY VET A WHILE BACK. AND WHEN HE BUILT HIS NEW HOSPITAL A FEW YEARS AGO I HAVE A REALLY NICE PICTURE FRAME TO PUT HIS IRISH SETTER'S PICTURE IN. JUST DEPENDS ON WHAT YOU WANT TO GIVE. BUT I THINK IT IS A GREAT IDEA HOWEVER YOU GO.

Thanks for the suggestions. I decided to go with a basket from Kindred Spirits Gift Shop. I especially like the Angel and Dog figurine. I consider Boogie's vet to be her guardian angel.
