| To all of you who have recently lost their beloved dogs to this disease - I lost my dear, beloved Shih Tzu, Allie, on 1/1/08 after a swift four day battle. Many others on this forum have also experienced the same thing. I am SO sorry for your loss. If you've been suffering from the "what if" syndrome, it's normal to question everything that was done by you and your vet. We've all done it. Try to remember that everyone did the best they could with the knowledge that they had at that time. There is just no good explanation or logical reason for what has happened to our dogs. There is a site called Gratefulness.org where one of our forum friends (Betty from Dallas)started a place to light virtual candles for dogs and their families fighting this dreadful disease. I have found this site to be a great comfort and encourage you to visit and light a candle for your loved one. If you click on the lighted candles, you can see the individual message. | Miranda, I am so heart warmed that this site has provided you comfort. And that you are passing it on to others. I check here frequently, but don't post much. However, I use the candle site thru the golden retriever forum almost daily. To me it is not only comforting, but very meditative and a way to honor and remember many who cross our paths. |
