Oliver finally got a second opinion. I am so much happier with this vet then the one prior. I was at this vets office for 2 1/2 hours. He gave Oliver all different tests to rule out other diseases and educated me on what might be going on with Oliver. He told me that in twelve years of practice he has never had a patient so young with AIHA. He is giving me hope for my dogs life. He told me that we are going to make my dog healthy and get him to live a long life. Maybe not as long as if he did not have this disease but long enough to enjoy his companionship. We get the blood results tomorrow morning and he is going to let me know what to with his dosages of medication. He gave me his contact information and told me that if there is an emergency to not hesitate to call no matter what time. He makes me feel that he cares about my dog. He actually got on the ground with Oliver to make him feel comfortable in the office. I hope that everyone's dogs are doing well and wish everyone a happy holiday. Please keep my dog in your thoughts and prayers. Mark

Good for you mark! There is nothing better at beating this disease than a great vet and a dedicated owner. Oliver is young and strong and is going to have a long and wonderful life.

Good luck with your Oliver. My Scruffy was only 9 months old. It is so unfair. The vet told me they had never ever seen it in such a young dog either. Sounds like you have great vet support and I pray you will get the right outcome with treatment.
