Dunes has had a struggle but is one that has done relatively well. She was diagnosed in June 2007. Had several (3) transfusions. Original meds were 80 mg of pred, 300 mg of Atopica, 10 of Immuran. She is down to 5 mg of pred, 50 mg Atopica, '5 Immuran. We tried to go to 5 mg of pred, every other day. She dropped from 49 to 41 in her count in two weeks. She is back on 5 mg everyday and is up to 42.7, which is very gradual climb. I am grateful but worry about her kidneys and diabetes. She is relatively well. I think of all of you and especially Josh and Sway.

Joe, I can't believe it has been that long! It is a shame that she may have to stay on some dose of the meds for possibly the rest of her life but I am sure that everyday with her has been an absolute bonus. I am so happy for you both. Penny

Joe, so great to hear from you. I know this has been a long struggle for your family and Dunes but am glad to hear that she is holding her own. I'm sure you cherish every day with her. deb and Duck

Great to hear of a success story. You also were diagnosed about the same time as Drago, only after a 4 month battle we lost. I am Really Really happy to hear that you are winning. Hugs all around! Suek
