Dunes has been doing well but started vomiting yesterday at 4:30 pm. Talked to the vet and eventually took her in. Vet gave fluids and injection and told me to watch her. The injection should have taken two hours to kick in. If not-take her to the hospital. Three hours latwer, put her i the car for Columbus, an hour away. She did not vomit on the way and they've kept her over night. She hasn't had any of the anemia meds which worries me. Her PCV, last night, had gone up the highest ever-42. They said that he liver function and pancreas tests were near normal, considering the meds that she is on. She has not vomited since last night at home, and I may go get hertonight-waiting for the call. She is having IV fluids and is eating small amounts. No vomiting-although the area of the spleen is unconfortable for her. As usal, am a wreck-but happy about the PCV.

Hi Joe. Great news about Dunes' PCV. I hope the vets can find some answers about the vomitting and that this is just a little blip and that Dunes will soon be back to normal. Will be thinking of you. deb and Duck

Joe, Hopefully it is something totally unrelated to the AIHA. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you and your girl. Penny

Hi Joe, Hopefully maybe just a little touch of cold or flu. You know our Holly went through this almost 2 months ago. SHe was vomiting for 4 days, and her numbers went off the charts, all of them PCV dropped, retic went really high, just everything was all off. The vet and internists could not find anything wrong and concluded just a cold or flu bug. Said that the animals are being hit hard with it this year, just like the humans. Will keep Dunes in our prayers that she is okay. Linda

Joe, I am so sorry to hear about Dunes. We had a vomiting thing here with both dogs about 4 weeks ago. I was very worried about Chance but when Cassie got it too, it was cause for $215 vet visit. She has an ironclad stomach and hasn't been sick a day in her life. I set down a dish that had some apple stuck to it and she refused to lick it. Mark had her in the vet's office a few hours later. So maybe this is just some kind of dog flu indeed, something that I even asked my vet about. If the sensitivity of her abdomen around her spleen continues, it might be good to get a simple xray. Has her weight changed at all significantly? Patrice
