Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Dunes

I took a vacation for two weeks and boarded Dunes at the vet. The day I left, her PCV dropped to 36 from 40, where it had been for weeks.

I was so upset.

She then jumped to 40 and last week 43. So go figure.

Started to reduce pred today from 20 mg to 10 mg.

Always concerned, obsessive, and worried.

Joe,
I am sure the vacation was much needed. I wonder if it was stress that brought her number down? Glad to hear that it is back up. Hopefully there will be no further problems. You both have come a long way.

Glad to hear Dunes is on the rise, 43 is great

Interesting thought on can stress cause a drop. Wylie had her test on Friday and she dropped 2 points. We had to wait half an hour, this is why I should do her tests first thing in the mornning before the vet gets backed up. And she freaks when she goes so she was practilly hyperventilating the whole time putting those blood cells in overdrive.

When I had one of my dogs at the Vet for Titers he was so scared he actually lost control of his bowels, and some of his numbers were off and the Vet said it was because of the stress.
