| Hi everyone. Just got some good news. On Tuesday Duck went for a routine CBC and his PCV was down to 32.8 from 39.3. We increased his prednisone dosage from 10 mg eod to 10 mg oid and today, only two days later, his PCV is up to 39.8. I asked the vet if Tuesday's reading could have been an error and she didn't think so. She always looks at Duck's blood smear under the microscope and today's blood looked totally back to normal as compared to two days ago. So, the plan is to leave him at 10 mg once a day, in two weeks do a CBC and if his PCV is still normal, we will reduce his dosage to 5 mg. once a day. We will stay at that dosage for about a month, doing a CBC part way through to make sure he is maintaining normal. Thanks to you all for your support - I don't know what I would do without your kind words and input. I hope and pray that each and every one of you are having a good day with your doggies. deb and Duck |
