I wanted to let you all know that Dream, pictured on the Meishas Hope Bandana page went to the Bridge June 27th. Dream was almost 14 and had battled much in her life she was such a strong girl, she had been dubbed the dog of steel by many Vets. Thankfully Dream never had to suffer with AIHA like her two sisters and many of the dogs here. Dream had been in home hospice care since last September, one of the ACL repairs either gave way or horrible arthritis had set in, she then had a horrible bout with Vestibular Syndrome in December. She seemed to bounce back quickly from that but started knuckling on the hind leg she had been having problems with. The beginning of June Dream was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, she came home on meds, which did not agree with her, and made her incontinent...then the other hind leg began to knuckle. Dream still kept going, that tail wagging, eating well and getting outside with assistance. She would fall often and one morning she gave me that look - the leave me alone look, leave me here to die. I of course could not do it, got her back in the house, but made arrangements to release her from her tired body that Monday. Dream never wanted to disappoint me, she would have kept going forever. While at the Vet we stayed on the floor with her holding her, talking to her...and in the true fighting spirit of a Lab, she still would not let go, she required two injections to stop her beautiful heart. I miss her terribly, she was my girl, my best friend and the one who finally healed my heart after I lost my other Yellow Lab. As some of you know...we are a bit crazy here, and two weeks later I put a deposit on another Yellow Lab puppy, I just can't imagine my life without one. Little Cally came home about 10 days ago, and has filled our lives with joy again. Yes I am still grieving the loss of Dream, but I feel strongly that she sent us this little girl to love and heal us. You and your pups are always in my thoughts, Julie

Julie: We are so very sorry to hear that Dream has gone to the Bridge. We understand how hard it is to make the decision to help our beloved companions to the Bridge but we also know what a loving act it is. We are glad you have a new fur baby to help you through this difficult time. And I am sure you are right about Dream sending you little Cally to help ease your pain. Even after they have left us, our dogs watch over us and help bring joy to our lives. Rita, Mike, Greta and (angel) Sheba

Julie, It is so hard to let them go. I am glad you have a new puppy (no doubt sent by your girl) to help with the healing. I am sure Dream is again kicking her heels up at the bridge. Take care penny

Thank you both so much... Dreams loss was probably the most difficult one for me, she was the last of my original pack, the end of an era filled with so much happiness. Now she is back with Gwen, Wolfie and Aiyana running, swimming and romping at the bridge. Dream was my rock, my joy, and my strength for 14 years, I counted on her in so many ways. Her loss is felt strongly here, especially by Hurley and Layla. Cally has been helping to heal their hearts too, dogs grieve just like us. Julie

| Julie, I am so sorry to hear about Dream, She was a beautiful dog. May she always live in your heart. Kathy could not have said it better.
