I have been putting this off but I guess I must do it. Drago passed 11/7/07. She fought her battle from 6/25/07 thru 4 different chemo drugs and predisone. She was down to a 13 on her last blood count but still had enough strength to try to bite the vet. When I took her in she gave me one last lick and layed down to die. I had her cremeted and she is with me always. The day before Thankgiving I went to the animal shelter and rescued an abused and starved Pit puppy. Her name is Tofka. I gave her Drago's middle name to honor her. (Tatiana) The new puppy is slow and very shy, I guess because of her background of abuse. So good luck to all of you with happy endings and not so happy endings. You will always be a part of me. Thanks for all the advise.

Sue, I am sorry to hear of Drago's passing. When you didn't post for a while I feared that was probably why. I know that you did your very best for Drago and I am sure she knew that too. I am glad you have rescued a new puppy and know you will be an excellent doggie Mom to her as you were to Drago. Hopefully Tofka has been able to ease some of the pain. Best to you both Penny

Sue We are very sorry for the loss of Drago, we all know how hard it is to loose a pet and we do feel your pain. I think it was so wonderful of you to rescue a puppy who maybe would not normally have a chance. I know that adopting Tofa would make Drago so very proud of you. Please send us some photos of her as we would love to see them. Thanks so much for the update as we have thought of you often. Cheryl & Ginger

Dear Sue -- thank you for posting the news about Drago. Like Penny, I assumed that you no longer posted because you lost your dear girl, and you didn't answer my private e-mails. Those of us on the board who are familiar with you and Drago know that both of you fought hard, and you did your best for her. Sometimes, though, it just isn't meant to be. My heart went out to you then, and now, because you are still hurting, and part of you always will. But in time the wonderful memories of the life you shared with Drago will overcome the sadness of losing her to the horrible disease that is IMHA. You are a wonderful person for the love and care you gave to Drago, and now you are going to provide a loving, caring home for little Tofka, who has had a rough start in her short life. Best wishes to you and to Tofka as you help each other through difficult times with love and healing. Please take care and let us know how you're doing.
