Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Diatomaceous Earth for Flea/Tick Control

Just heard of this, and have been doing my research, and am going to get a bag to sprinkle around the outside of the house. If you use this, you must buy FOOD GRADE, available online or at a feed store such as Agway or Blue Seal. It is a natural alternative to Frontline, etc-it is crushed seashells that are ground to a fine powder that supposedly pierces the exoskeleton and kills the insect-fleas, ticks, ants, etc. Safe if a dog ingests it-it is used internally in livestock. This is the same stuff that you put in pool filters, but that is chemically treated and toxic, so don't get it at the pool supply place. Worth a try!

We've used diatomaceous earth for several years on our yards and flower beds with great success. We order from here... www.dirtworks.net There is also a ton of info on the various grades.... NEVER use DE that has been formulated for swimming pools. It is treated and very toxic. They also have non-toxic fertilizers and household cleaners .

Apart from dirtworks, where else can you buy this stuff?

Try any nursery that carries organic or "green" merchandise.
