Well we didnt make it till Monday, this morning daisy was very down and kind of just staring into space. Her gums looked pale and she was not begging when we were eating breakfast --And that aint my daisy. We took her to the emergency vet, her platlets are at 12, red blood cells at 48 The vet wanted to keep her given her history and what has transpired with her liver and heart. I know nothing more that yesterday but at least she is being watched by people who can react ASAP to her needs. I do miss her - the house is so lonely when she is not here. The vet of course gave the speech regarding every relapse makes it harder to get her back into remission - etc The specialist will see her in the morning and they will do an ultrasound. We are going to go and visit her a little later today. please keep my baby in your thoughts and prayers -- i know they help thank you

Please know that Daisy is in my prayers. I think it was a very good idea to get Daisy to the ER vet and I know it is hard to be at home when she is not there, but they are better equipped and staffed to take care of your baby. Please let us know how she is tonight after you visit her. Sending our hugs and prayers your way Cheryl & Ginger

Dear Tina, I am so very sorry to hear this latest news. I can imagine how stressed and anxious you must be. PCV at 48 is great, it's just those platelets! What diagnostic tests are they running to try and get to the bottom of this? Try to take the positives - Daisy eating and drinking is a good sign. Hold on to that, and try to rest... easier said than done - we all know that. Any news on the mass near her heart? Thinking of you and hoping for good news in the morning, Sam & Millie.

If Daisy is prednisone it will make her pant and drink more? Keeping our paws crossed today will be a better day. Let us know how she makes out at the vet today. Cheryl & Ginger

Tina, I am sorry to hear what you and Daisy are going through. I know it is hard to not have them at home, but she is where she needs to be right now. You are doing what you need to for her, and I am sure she knows that. My Toqua had an 8cm mass removed from her abdomen a month ago. So, I really know how scary this all is. It is so hard to see the positives with all this happening. Sending good vibes for the ultrasound. In our thoughts and prayers. Jess & Toqua

The vet more x-rays and ultrasound No results from the ultrasound yet but from the x-rays the vet feels the enlarged liver is due to the years of Prednisone. And the heart is slightly enlarged but he is not concerned. The masses around the lungs turned out to be fatty deposits -- finally we get a break. They are doing a full blood work, testing for ticks etc But the vet went through her whole history and she always comes out of remission at the same time if year - spring. So he thinks it could be related to allergies and has read several articles that have linked allergies to autoimmune. So once we get her stable again, I will see an allergist. Has anyone heard of allergies and IMHA/ITP being connected?
