Thank you for those of you who read a few days ago about Crosby, our 3 year old Australian Terrier diagnosed with PRCA on June 19.
Todays blood results were encouraging for the first time in 5 weeks. Last Friday he had a PCV of 15, a 0 reticulocyte count and a dangerously low platelet count (including bruising). He received his third transfusion last Friday and left the hospital w/ a PCV of 33.
Today's blood results just in - his PCV is holding at 30, reticulocyte count is 25,000 and his platelets are in the "normal" range. I know we are not out of the woods yet. It was just sooooo encouraging to hear some good news, particularly regarding his reticulocyte count. He has basically not been producing any to very very little at the level of the bone marrow since diagnoses. We are cautiously optomistic at this point.

| Thanks to all for words of encouragement. Crosby still appears to be stable, he was at the vet yesterday, Monday, and the vet didn't think we needed to do blood work as his tongue and gums are decently pink. He is also eating well (although he has been doing so through this whole ordeal) and he is alert. So, I guess time will tell. If he could just hold at 30 for a while that would be terrific in our eyes!!

| Rebecca -- glad to hear that Crosby is responding to treatment. I'll keep both of you in my thoughts and prayers.
