Celebration time !!! Never thought this day would ever come. It has been an unbelievable journey. Our vets have been fantastic throughout. I am very grateful to Dr. Dodds for all her help and especially to this outstanding compassionate and informed board for all the support every inch of the way. Cooper is now a 3 year old Airedale terrier that is full of energy, back to normal weight, and his coat is almost back to full color. He has maintained a PCV of 48 for the last three months and all other vitals are back to normal. He is still on a very low dose (12 1/2 mg) of Azathioprine twice a week for three more weeks just as a precauion. Cooper has been extremely fortunate that his IMHA has been regenerative, that his system was able to handle all of the medications, and that infections were held at bay. This disease takes all of us on an emotional, physical, and financial rollarcoaster ride that requires absolute compliance and dedication and then most of all LUCK. Luck has indeed been on our side and we are eternally grateful and yet feel great sorrow for those that have not been so lucky. Ron & Cooper

Hey Ron! Great to hear the WONDERFUL NEWS about Cooper..........this is such a CRUEL and CRAZY disease....it sure warms the heart when another beloved dog beats the odds and gets back to being his plain old fantastic self ( without all the side-effects that accompany the rotten ride of AIHA ). Cody and I wish you both continued good health, happiness, and tons more "Good Luck"!!! Best wishes, Tammy and Cody

Ron, Congratulations. I am so happy for you and Cooper. Give yourself a well deserved pat on the back. You should be so proud of yourself and Cooper. I admire your resolve and wish you two many happy more times together. A victory against this disease is very heartwarming, especially to those of us who have recently lost our companions. Continue to fight hard. -Darren

Ron, Congrats to you and Cooper! It is wonderful to read that he is back to the dog you knew before this awful disease raised its ugly head. It must be great to see him looking and acting so healthy. I know that so many times it is hard to believe that if you are able to beat the odds that you still wonder if your dog will ever recover a normal life. Cooper has shown that it can be done and probably given a lot of hope to people still in the fight. Penny
