| Hi all, Well I just got home. Although Brandi looks about the same I had a real breakdown in front of her. I know I'm not supposed to that but I just couldn't help it. It's Christmas, a special time of year for Christians, and I'm alone without my girl. She was getting her latest transfusion (#8 I believe) and she barked. She needed to potty was what she was trying to say. But she couldn't be moved so she had to potty in her cage. Then she moved to a clean spot and I saw blood was in her urine. I think that's when my breakdown started. My internal specialist nor my student was there at the time. None of the others could really tell me anything. She did have 2 sticky notes on her cage that said "do urine test". I don't know what that means until they call me. This mornings blood work revealed a pcv of 15 and platelets 16,000 plus she has bloody diarhhea which means more blood in the GI tract. Dr Dugas thinks it's time we try something else. It's been 8 days so I agree. Tomorrow Brandi will get the Human Immunoglobin transfusion and we are discontinuing Azathioprine and adding Cellcept as it's supposed to be stronger than Azathioprin. Now I see blood in her urine and a distressed GI tract I am fearful of the Cellcept. But what else can I do? Other than let her go? So I'm down tonight. Sad because it's Christmas without the one I love so dearly and may never get to bring home again. I have put this into God's hand and with His guidance maybe I'll get a miracle or maybe He will choose to take her to the bridge. Please keep praying for Brandi and remember her tomorrow in your Christmas thoughts and prayers. I wish everyone here a very merry Christmas and good health for you and your babies for many, many years to come. Teresa |
