| I feel a little guilty about not being on the site so much lately. You were all there for us.. and Trooper. But as she improved, all the other parts of our lives took over - "or we caught up with" 12/11/07- fever and pallor. PCV-23. 10 days ICU care. 12/12/08- heavier by about 15 pounds, on prednisone 7.5 mg twice a week. PCV-48 Retic Count 1.3% What a long year...but the message to those of you early on....hold on. We had a ton of snow yesterday in Connecticut and our beautiful black and white collie was whining to go outside with the sledding family...and she DID!!! We have had set backs, (big skin infection March, bells palsy April) and tons of meds (Imuran until November, still decreasing the prednisone, pepcid just now with the pred, MONTHS of antibiotics, lovenox shots for a few weeks in the beginning...) Our thanks to Joanne and this site for the help and sanity and insight....and of course to our local vets- Christopher Brunner and Rachel Haerter...and our specialists in Katonah Bedford NY for the outstanding care they gave to each of us. Of course, we will never know when or if this will come back to bite us again...one day at a time... Hugs to all your best friends....Happy Holidays |

| Chris, What great news! I too wish you and your family nothing but the best in 2009. I usually suggest a round of frosty paws for such an occasion but it sounds like Trooper has the real thing. Penny |
