Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Casper Update

Hello All Casper's PCV from yesterday's blood test was 50%!!! That is the highest he has ever gotten. And his platelets are at 324k. His liver and blood glucose are normal and no signs of infection in his bladder. Hooray for little Casper!!! Take that you evil Evans Syndrome! His doc said since he was doing so well, it was up to me to decide when he should go for his next blood test. She recommends maybe twice a year if I do not see anything wrong with him. Am so thankful to everyone. This is all possible because of everyone's prayers and support. I hope everyone's furbaby can do as well. We continue to pray for each and every doggie fighting this horrible disease.

Leslie, That is fantastic! I am so happy for you and Casper. I know what a long and scary journey you had to get to this point and I hope that the people still fighting read your post and hold on to that hope that someday they will be able to post good news too.

YIPPIE!!! I am so excited for Casper and his Mommie!! That is absolutely wonderful! He is such a cute boy! Him and my Mia need to meet!! They look so much alike!! Mia's Pcv went up to 34 week before last, but was down a bit this week - to 28... But, she is looking really good!! She's down to 5 mg of Pred twice a day and 25 mg of Azathioprine every other morning. And I can't wait to lower those soon!! Give Casper a hug for me! I am so happy for you two!! -Liz and Mia
