Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - Casper - 2 year anniversary

It is now two years since Casper was diagnosed. I am so very grateful to have had these two extra years with Casper. I hope there are lots of extra years to come for my little boy. His first collapse happened in February 2006 and the next happened in April 2007. The doc is going to keep him on meds for the rest of his life. Anyway, just wanted to share this milestone with you all and I pray that all your babies will keep up the good fight. Leslie, great news that Casper is still going strong. Give him a big hug for me! Just curious to know what meds Casper will be on for the rest of his life. I suspect that if we make it as far as you have, Duck may end of on meds indefinitely as well. deb and Duck

Hi Deb Casper is on 2.5 mg prednisone, 25 mg imuran and 10 mg pepcid. Unless he starts to show significant side effects from the meds, the doc said this will be his maintenance dosage.
