Calypso HCT this week is 39.5, down from 41.5. She seems to be doing well on her Prednisone wean. She is down to 7.5mg once a day. She remains on Cyclosporin 75 mg twice a day, Denamarin once a day, low dose aspirin once a day, and Pepcid 10mg twice a day. A little concerning is her other results: WBC still normal 13.1 (5.7 -16.3) Platelets 324 (164 - 510) But now she has Netrophil bands 3 (0-3%) Lymphocytes 10 (12-30) Monocytes 11 (3-10) Her slide showed her platelets clumped, RBC morphology normal, but dohle bodies seen and neutrophils appears slightly toxic. So it seems as if she has an infection, but still acting normal and playful. She is eating well (starting weight 35lbs, current weight 44lbs). We started her on Cephalexin 500mg twice a day and will followup in 10 days. So I am just keeping my fingers crossed for now!

Excellent news. I'm thrilled. Good job.

Wendi, I would pay more attention to her behavior right now and wait for the next round of blood work before you start to worry. It may be just a minor infection that the antibiotics will knock down. Keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers. Penny

Thanks Mardi and Penny! Penny, you make a good point! I know she is feeling pretty good because she is back to chewing up the kid's toys when they leave them out..LOL

A pcv of 39.5,that's something dreams are made of for Nollaig and I.I'm sure if you examined every normal healthy dog's blood regularly, there would be variations in all cell lines but that would still be considered normal.Well done Calypso and keep it up! Kathleen and Nollaig
