This bill came about because of the dedication of one family who lives not far from me. Their dog Molly was diagnosed with AIHA a few years ago. This is from State Assemblyman Curt Hagman Governor Jerry Brown Signs Molly's Bill into Law I am pleased to announce that Governor Brown signed AB 258, affectionately known as "Molly's Bill" into law. AB 258 will protect California canines from unintended consequences of regular anti-rabies vaccine. It will create an exemption from anti-rabies vaccine for dogs a licensed veterinarian determines are likely to have dangerous or lethal reactions to the vaccine. I would like to thank the Governor and all the dog lovers who supported this bill along the way. I could not have done it without you. It has been a long road but is fantastic that man's best friend now enjoys this protection! Thank you for your ongoing support. It is an honor to serve you and the State of California.

That is awesome!!! I hope more states and especially Pennsylvania follow with a law like this soon so Ginger can come out of the closet as a non vaccinated dog. Cheryl & Ginger

Thanks for sharing! Gosh, I hope Henri can come out of the closet, too. Maybe we will have to do some work here in Washington state. One battle at a time, and eventually....we will change things. Furhugs, Ella and Henri

I just had a great experience in Maryland. Chloe was a year overdue for her rabies vaccine and I just didn't do the paperwork for her license. Our vet wrote a letter stating that Chloe has IMHA and can't be vaccinated. I sent it on to the county and it was accepted and Chloe's license tag was sent to me. Not one hassle! I wish I could just use rabies titers for my other dogs but that is a no-no so far. I did titers for the other dogs so I could prove that they didn't need any additional vaccines. I will have to do the rabies though this month. So-Chloe is out of the vaccine closet!! Chloe is doing well almost 18 months from first diagnosis (PCV of 9!). She remains on cyclosporine 35mg Monday-Friday and 2.5 mg prednisone every other day + of course all her other remedies. Thank you to Dr. Dodds. Cheri and Chloe
