hello all! We took Brinnie for a blood test yesterday and her PCV is now 33! After 2 weeks of treatment! WOO HOO! The vet asked me if I lowered her dose from 6 tablets of 20 mg of prednisone to 3 and I said no that I wanted her levels to get higher and he understood. So, thanks to those of you who gave me the advice on not decreasing it so fast as I didn't feel comfy doing that. He said that I could do that now, but I'm only dropping it to 4 tabs of 20 mg per day cause I want her to continue to increase. Thanks to everyone for your support! I was bawling my eyes out Weds night cause she still was acting different. She is getting more normal as time goes on! Like today! She "snaked" on the grass and the carpet which she and my other dog do when they are satisfied food-wise. If you have any other advice, please share it! What I learned from everyone so far has been SO helpful! Christina

Christina, Isn't it wonderful to see signs of normal things? I am glad your Vet is on board with you making decisions of how you want to handle her treatment. That makes it so much less stressful for everyone. Penny

Dear Christina, This is wonderful news. Congratulations to you and Brinnie. Keep up the good work. I am so glad you are being cautious on the med reductions. Brinnie was on extra-high doses of Pred to start with anyway, so you did have to reduce a little this time. Keep us posted on her progress. Sam and Millie.
