Kika has had blood in her urine off and on through her Prednisone treatment. Now that she is completely off the Prednisone, she still has blood when she pees We went for a urinalysis last Sunday and i'm still waiting for the Vet to return with a diagnosis. Kika has NO fever and was spayed at 8 months. This morning i noticed a white discharge, along with the blood. it was about an inch long, shaped like a wooden match, and appeared fibrous, cotton-like. Has anyone else here experienced similar symptoms? Thank you in advance for any feedback -Otto

You won't be able to guestimate until you hear the results of the test, but a number of years ago I had a dachshund who continued bleeding while urinating off and on. She was treated for a UTI but the problem didn't disapate. Ended up she had several kidney stones which were not passing and an xray revealed they had to be removed. Sometimes, though UTI's are tough to get rid of. She may have developed a yeast infection as well especially if there is inflamation in the urinary tract. I'm sure you will receive some news soon. It is scary to witness bleeding. Keep us posted and best to you and Kika Jan

ok. the vet said to start Kika on a round of clavamox, the urinalysis showed few bacteria but perhaps this is a stubborn UTI i've been worried about a yeast infection as well, and upon researching this perhaps a stump pyometra... oh well we'll try the clavamox and see if the blood returns... fingers crossed
