Canine Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia (AIHA & IMHA) - BioPreparation f3+

I read some really good things about this. I ordered it today to be shipping to me over night. I'm willing to try anything at this point. I read on here about Shannons and her dogs story and one of the things that worked for her dog was a combo of somethings one of which was this BioPreparation F3+ . Any insight would be greatly helpful . Thank you so much

There's a pretty thorough discussion on this topic here...search the archives and you'll find our thoughts on it!

For me....nope! Not worth the risk of using live microalgae on an immune suppressed dog!

Good luck and let me know what you find out.

Can you tell us about your dog?

Jacki,

I have used Bio Preparation once my dog (60 lbs) was on a fairly low dose of Pred (5mg) and azathioprene every second day. I checked with the vet who said it would be ok, but did not think it would make a big difference. Like you I just wanted to do everything. I really don't know if I would do it again, I would make sure to feed VERY good, wholesome, real food. I know that Dr. Dodds is against Bio Prep, that should be a red flag.
Best wishes,

ALSO, one would have to assume that Biopred would stimulate the immune system...which is what we DO NOT want right now! Might make the disease harder/longer to treat!?!?!?!

I have used the Bioprep when my dog Ginger had a few relapses (diagnosed in 2007). I did have the the blessing from my vet and yes I did think it helped and I would use it again.
If you do decide to use add it in very gradually like it states on the bottle. Once Ginger's PCV was back in the normal range I slowly weaned her off of it and it is not one of the maintenance drugs she now takes.

Make sure you have your vet look at the ingredients before using.

I know that Dr Dodds is not a fan of it.

Just thought I would give you my opinion and I am not trying to open up a discussion on Bioprep as there have been many.

Sending my prayers for Gunner, please keep us updated on how he is doing.

If you go threw optimum choices website and ask the guy there he has loads of information for you on Bioprep. I have used it with my dog for over a year now and feel that it has kept my dog healthy to handle the pred. all I know is she wasnt doing well with the pred, and then I started using the bioprep and her numbers started to increase. I dont know if the bio did it or not. But i feel that it has kept her from having other problems along the way. so to me its more about the health of the dog. I love it..
