HI Well two years ago today Bertie was diagnosed with AIHA. He was only seven months of age. It took over a month before we saw any signs of regeneration and no would could tell me if he would survive. He had two blood transfusions in the first week. He was given Pred and Imuran. It was the worse time of my life. Today you would never know he was so sick. He is back to his happy self and running around without a care in the world and so very cheeky. He has been completely off all meds for about 18 months. He does not get any vaccinations, but regular vet checks and also titers to check his immunity levels as necessary. I still check his gums every day and watch his mood, etc. For all those people and their best friends going through this my thoughts and prayers are with you. Lisa and Bertie

Lisa...That is good to hear. You must have been really worried having your dog get this so young. Daisy has had this since July '07 and she is holding her own but her number hasn't gone above 30....we are waiting for our next blood test in a month.

Thanks everyone. Rob, hang in there, I remember when I was taking bertie in for his checks and the numbers would stay the same...then one week it jumped from 31 to 38! You could not wipe the smile off my face that day. So keep the faith, power of positive thinking really helps. Lisa
