Hello again everyone from Johnny and Tessy. I just wanted to ask if anyone on here baths their dogs while they are sick or if it is or isn't recommended. I'm not sure if the stress would be good for her or not. She doesn't get overly stressed...just a little. Also, do you think it would cause any adverse reactions? (chill, shaking, etc) Thanks again, Johnny & Tessy

I still bathed Tiggs when he was sick (mostly after he was stablized). I really wanted to wash the smell of sick doggy off of him. He hates baths, so we just made it quick and used a gentle shampoo. Hope Tessy is feeling better! melissa and tiggs

Hi Jonathan, Did you ever consider the non water bath? It is a gentle spray that you work ino their coat and then just brush. It is a great alternative to getting them into a tub and getting wet. It smells good too. Dolores

Hi Jonathan, My vet recommended that I not bath or greem charlie while he is sick, he is a large labradoodle so I wouldnt attempt to bath him myself. I kept him very close to home so he wouldnt pick anything up while his immune system is supressed. his pred has been reduced 2 weeks ago and his numbers are going up. I will ask my vet before i take him to the groomer though. Carol

| Hi Jonathan, Lucily I trained Layla to "hop in the tub" & it's not a big deal. But when she was real sick I avoided it, as not to stress her out. When she started doing better I brushed her out real well & clipped her hair back a bit to get the "sick" hair off her & gave her a nice bath (taught her to "shake" -her whole body- in the shower as a pup. to get most of the H2O off)- She loved it & rolled all around on the deck on towels, hopping & having a blast! Was great to see. But I know your concern. I'm not an expert, but in my opinion, if she hasn't had abath in a few months, I think it'd make her feel better. Best of luck & prayers to you both!
