| Hi, Archie saw the vet this week and pcv 40%, this is super news and she doesn't want to see him for tests for 3 months! For those of you including Johnny who are at the battle stage - hang in there. We realise we are so lucky to have a lively dog who is catching up on the puppyhood he missed.Rather spoilt but adorable and full of mischief. Patrice, I am listing the latest cbc and it would be great if you could have a look, the vet said she is happy with these results but you explain things so clearly. I would slso like advice from anyone on cryptorchidism surgery for Archie, the vet feels he is fit enough to have this and whilst I realise there is a risk of tumour in the retained testicle but I worry that he will go downhill? | Sue, those are wonderfull numbers for Archie!!! Everything is in normal range and I'd be beyond relieved to have these numbers!!! The "M" numbers falling to normal values means that the body is getting back to normal...if it isn't already!!! YAY!!! With regards to the cryptorchid surgery I'm not sure what to say. This is a decision that you'll have to make with the vet watching over Archie. If it were me I'd go by the clinical signs as well as the numbers in making the decision for surgery. Given that all the numbers are good now and Archie is acting and seeming fine I'd be looking more and more at setting this up in the near(er) future. Again, this is something you should deeply discuss with the vet...make sure you voice all your concerns. I know very little about this but I think that if it's something that should be done then it should be done to prevent future problems. If it makes you feel any better I had to put Tessy under last month to do a biopsy. I was a nervous wreck just at the thought of having to use anesthesia on her but I knew it had to be done and she came out perfectly fine....just a little sore. Anesthesia nowadays is fairly safe. If Archie was anemic still then perhaps things would be different. Keep me posted on what you decide. My thoughts and prayers are with you both. HUGS Johnny & Tessy |

| Thanks Johnny, Where do you get the time to still help us? I sincerely hope Tessy is doing as well as can be expected and that things get a lot better for you all very soon. Thankyou so much for the analysis of Archies results, I do discuss my worries with the vet and although she is super, I think at times she feels I am being over protective. Also, I trust your judgement as I know you understand how both I feel and you are my specialist! Thanks again and hugs to Tessy. Sue and Archie |
