Just a quick note to mention that the April, 2009 AIHA/IMHA Success Story is now online at the Meisha’s Hope Web site. This month’s story is about Duck who is loved and cared for by Debbie who posts on this forum. I remember when Debbie first started posting on here I was so curious about what a dog named Duck looked like. As you will be able to see for yourself he is a real little cutie. I am sure that Duck’s photo and most inspiring story will give everyone who reads it a great deal of Hope and encouragement. The following URL will take you directly to the Success Stories page at the Meisha’s Hope Web site where you can read Duck’s Success Story: http://www.cloudnet.com/~jdickson/successstories.htm Hugs to all the canine kids from my little canine red-headed gal, Maddie and me.

Debbie, I am so happy to see Duck's story. I can't believe it has been almost two years. I remember your first post and my reaction at first thinking you were posting about an actual duck. Ha! Congrats to all. Penny

Yayyy, Deb and Duck! Great pic, wonderful story. Duck is a little trooper, and a real inspiration. I love his little white stripe down his nose. I didn't realize Duck was so young, so was he just a pup when he was diagnosed then? Thanks for sharing his story. Melissa and tiggs

Hi Deb, All this time, reading your posts I was wondering what does this dog look like that they call him Duck. Now I know what a beautiful little fur baby he is. Thanks for the update and pictures Joanne.

Hi Penny, Melissa and Delores. Thanks so much for your kind comments and encouragement. I know the name "Duck" has caused some comical confusion in the past but one thing's for sure - no one has ever forgotten his name! It was my 20 year old son who bought him from a pet store in Cape Breton and named him "Duck". When I asked Ryan how he came up with that name, he just shrugged. AHHHH, the minds of our youngsters!! Melissa, Duck was just 8 months old when he fell ill and we had only had him for 2 months. Of course in that 2 months, we fell hopelessly in love with him and were devastated at the prospect of losing him. It was so sad to see his puppyhood cut short and yet I think the fact that he was so young worked in his favour because he had a lot of strength to fight. Hope your doggies are all doing well and enjoying life. Give them all a hug from Duck. deb and Duck
