| I am sorry I am posting so much. Just seems the questions keep coming and it really helps knowing that someone might have some kind of answer. Summer has been kind of snorting. It comes and goes. I just looked at her nose and one of her nostrils looks almost swollen shut. It this just part of this nightmare, or is it something else to worry about? I will show the vet tomorrow. | If the nose doesn't look right or if it looks swollen shut then you should take her to the vet! Tessy made some really weird noises when her crit and oxygen levels were low.....mostly deep heavy breathing and snoring but she did snort on occasion! It was always worse when she was resting or sleeping! She used to keep me up all hrs of the night with her breathing and snoring....I used to joke that one day she was going to blow the house down! How does the breathing look? Labored or troubles breathing? She's on antibiotics right? Keep us posted. Lots of thought and prayers for her. Johnny & Tessy |

Johnny, no antibiotics. One side looks fine, one looks pretty closed. She seems fine when she is asleep, but when she is awake, she snorts periodically. She is not gasping or anything. Thank you again! Carrie and Summer

Hmmm, make sure the vet looks it over VERY thoroughly. Is this new or something you just noticed that might have been there awhile?

Johnny, she has always snored. But this snorting is new. Because I have my own health issues, I have learned to take charge of my own health. I am ready to do the same for SUMMER. Any idea what this might be? I would like to have a clue before I go to the vet. Thank you again Johnny. Carrie and Summer

What does the nose look like? Dry or cracked? It could be immune related, allergy, fungal infection, etc. but just so hard to tell. Is it sensitive to touch? Anyway something is lodged up there...foxtail, etc.? Any discharge?

It was runny. It isn't now. It is kind of dry, right now.But that might be due to the fact the heater is on and it is dry in the house. It is not cracked or sore. I don't think anything is up there, but I can't see.

Hi Carrie, Just before Gracie was diagnosed and exhibiting any signs of this disease my son and I noticed that Gracie's nose was exceptionally dry. She had a ridge on her nose which caused me a bit of concern. ( I wish I had checked her gums in hindsight but never knew about this disease)I was watching her nose carefully. Gracie always snorted sometimes and still does especially when she lets out a sigh. Now that her PCV is elevated her nose has smoothed out and seems moist. I would keep a close eye on Summer's nose and question the vet about it when you see him/her. hugs, Gwen and Gracie
