Many times when a dog dies of AIHA/IMHA the owner caregiver will spend a great deal of time grieving the loss and then move on. In a few occasions the owner/caregiver of a deceased AIHA/IMHA dog will do something very significant to help in the fight against AIHA/IMHA. That is the case with Debby Fitch, the creator of the Truman Collar: http://www.thetrumancollar.com In the 4 years since the death of Debby’s most beloved Truman she has donated over $10,500.00 to the Meisha’s Hope AIHA/IMHA Fund, #338 at Morris Animal Foundation: http://www.cloudnet.com/~jdickson/newhope.htm through the sale of her collars, to help sponsor studies on AIHA/IMHA. The following article just came on line recently about Debby and the Truman Collars. It is so very inspiring in helping us to realize that each and every one of us can take a bad situation and turn it into something helpful to others http://ellsworthmaine.com/site/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=13068&Itemid=135 Debby Fitch is a such wonderful person and I am so honored to call my friend. If your dog needs a new collar I hope you will consider purchasing one from The Truman Collar http://www.thetrumancollar.com 25% of the purchase price of each collar sold goes to the Meisha’s Hope AIHA/IMHA Fund #338 at Morris Animal Foundation to help sponsor studies on AIHA/IMHA. In the words of Margaret Mead: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, individuals can change the world. Indeed, that is the only thing that ever has.” Hugs to all the canine kids from my little canine red-headed gal, Maddie and me.

Joanne -- thanks for highlighting the article May God bless Debbie for her thoughtfulness, compassion, and unselfishness. Her labors, which are considerable, are done for love of Truman and her canine companions, as well the dear dog companions of the rest of us. I also think it's wonderful how she raised the issue of over-vaccination, because more and more I believe it is key to understanding some of the major health challenges our dogs face.

I've just read this and the article linked. Sadly, no need for a collar at the moment, however, maybe someday. I just didn't want it to fall off the page! I'm passing the news article on to all of my dog owning family and friends. Sherri

Thanks, Joanne for the link... Thanks to Debby and her generous heart. As with Sherri, no need at this time for a collar. But, when I do I will purchase through Debby. My sisters and brother have dogs. I guess the dogs are getting the Christmas gifts this year. Thanks for the info. Ann Marie

I have bought two Truman collars and love them. They are so well made, hold up to washing and look so good.
